We first see Jake (Mark Rendall) at the police precinct trying to convince her grandmother Helen (Elizabeth McRae) to play Risk, but she refuses.
Later, they are playing the game with Stella (Melissa George) after the Stranger (Ben Foster) has been locked in the cell. Jake throws him a miniature of the game (a cavalry).
