The Game Maker (Juan Pablo Buscarini, 2014)

Film: The Game Maker
Game: Komikan, Chess, Game of the Goose, Dominoes, Pachisi, Backgammon, Checkers, Lotto, Bingo, Scrabble, Fictitious, Unidentified.
A movie where board games are pivotal! The main character, Ivan Drago, is a fan of board games and puzzles and also a great game designer (altough it seems he never has played with anyone!).
The director´s vision of the board game world seems a little limited and naive (the film is intented for children), but anyway transmits a great love for the hobby.

The movie is full with fictitious board games. The main one seems to be The Life of Ivan
Drago,  which is also some kind of visual script of the plot

Lots of board games components in the opening credits

At Ivan´s (David Mazouz) room we can see several board games. The one at the
bottom of the pile (green box) on the drawer chest is the version of The Game of
the Goose published by the Argentinian company Ruibal Hermanos. Directly over it we
can guess another game from the same maker.

Many of the most well-known games at the fair stand scene

Ivan takes part in a board game design contest and we see him create several games

Syl, a town dedicated to board games designing which has known better times

Ivan plays Komikan with his grandfather (Ed Asner)

The Profound Games Company, a sinister board game publisher

And many more board games in the final credits!
