General Bello's (Martin Balsam) son is playing Monopoly when Robert (Sean Connery) goes to their house. The boy gives some notes to Robert, although he seems to be playing by himself.
A little later, Robert greases the palm of policeman Faustino (Alejandro Rey) with some money. He later realizes that Robert gave him the Monopoly notes! They are used with a double meaning here and in the conversation between Robert and Bello.
