Harry (Humphrey Bogart) and his fiancée Jerry (Elizabeth Sellars) play backgammon towards the middle of the film, at the party at María's (Ava Gardner) house scene. María joins then later, but apparently just as an spectator. A drunken girl appears and asks if the game is chinese checkers, to what Harry replies is pinnacle.
The board is also seen in several shots later, when the argument between Kirk (Warren Stevens) and Alberto (Marius Goring) takes place.
