Jumanji (Joe Johnston, 1995)

Film: Jumanji
Game: Jumanji, Probe, Kimbo, Password, Careers, Monopoly, Clue, Rack-O, fictitious, unidentified
Jumanji is an old magical cursed game who is found every so often by some unlucky player. This is one of the most famous movies about board games and its entire plot deals about a play to the one who names it.
A curious case of "cultural feedback": Jumanji was a fictitious game that was invented for the film but, after the movie´s release, a less dangerous version of the game was marketed in stores. (See also Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, its remake).
There are other games in the film. See below!

Some old games from the 50s and 60s. Left pile, from top to bottom: Snakes & Ladders?, Rack-O (1956 ed.), Kimbo; right pile: Password, a 1956 Clue, Careers and Monopoly. There seems to be another game between Careers and Monopoly

A continuity error! Probe is not the game on Kimbo in the previous image!

  1. The game with red box that is on top of Kimbo is the game "Rack-O" (1956 Edition).
