A checkers set is seen at the Ranch where Herman Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) is writing the Citizen Kane script, but we never get to see any playing (we do see some card playing between Herman and his secretary in an early scene). The board is seen again at the same place during the visit of Orson Welles (Tom Burke).
